VISIT TO MIDA, MIDA SENTRAL, KUALA LUMPUR
YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Bin Tengku Abdul Aziz, the Minister of International Trade and Industry, expressed gratitude to MIDA for hosting his visit, emphasizing the importance of strengthening partnerships to achieve Malaysia’s investment goals. He outlined three priorities: ensuring that trade and investment drive economic growth, restoring investor confidence, and benefiting Malaysian SMEs from trade agreements. Zafrul praised MIDA’s achievements in attracting significant foreign and domestic investments, including RM48.2 billion in net FDI for 2021 and RM54 billion in the first nine months of 2022. He highlighted the necessity of a business-friendly regulatory environment, MIDA’s role in enhancing the E&E sector, and initiatives to support SMEs in digitalization. Zafrul called for collective efforts to navigate future challenges and emphasized that with commitment, success is attainable.
