The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry has secured RM14.1 billion investment from Texas Instruments (TI) to expand its semiconductor operations in Kuala Lumpur and Melaka by 2025, creating 1,800 jobs. The investment will aid TI's goal of internalising 90% of its assembly and test operations by 2030. The expansion, involving new factories with significant cleanroom space, underscores Malaysia’s importance in the global semiconductor supply chain and aligns with the nation's industrial policies.
