Malaysia aims to exceed its halal export target of RM63.1 billion by 2025, with 2022 exports nearing RM60 billion, marking a 64% increase from 2021. Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz expressed confidence in this goal, noting the global halal market is projected to reach US$5 trillion by 2030. The Halal Industry Master Plan 2030 (HIMP 2030) and New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030) will drive this growth, while initiatives like training programmes and the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) support workforce development and innovation.
