Discussions on reviewing special grants for Sarawak between the state government and the Finance Ministry are set to commence soon, according to Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili. This initiative aims to restore the rights of Sabah and Sarawak under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63). For Sabah, special grant matters will be addressed at the Special Council on MA63. Ongkili noted that amendments to Articles 1(2) and 160(2) of the Federal Constitution, which establish the equal status of Sabah and Sarawak, were passed last December, with further meetings planned to resolve outstanding issues.MORE RIGHTS TO BE RESTORED THIS YEAR
