The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) is aiding Malaysian solar manufacturers impacted by the US tariff hike on solar exports. Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz stated that the increased tariffs affect production lines in Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. MITI aims to gather more information and engage with the US Department of Commerce to support affected companies. The US has raised duties on solar equipment from these countries, citing unfair government subsidies, while also planning to increase tariffs on Chinese solar cells and panels from 25% to 50%.
