The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) aims to attract RM300 billion in green investments by 2030 to meet Malaysia’s net zero emission goals. Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz noted that Malaysia achieved RM40 billion in green investments from 2017 to 2023. The Green Investment Strategy (GIS) targets a 7.5-fold increase, contributing RM80 billion to GDP and creating 350,000 jobs by 2030. MITI will also collaborate with Bank Negara Malaysia to broaden green financing criteria, especially for small and medium enterprises.
