The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) is reviewing the Strategic Trade Act (STA) 2010 to streamline regulations on strategic goods and technology for specific industries. Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz stated that the review will address aspects of Strategic Trade Management (STM) that may hinder growth, particularly in the defence sector. He emphasized the need to balance technological advancement, economic competitiveness, and national security. Additionally, the Malaysia Strategic Trade Control Community (MYSTCC) will be established to connect the business community and STM professionals.
