Malaysia aims to boost the manufacturing sector’s contribution to GDP from its current 24% while reducing harmful emissions through a new circular economy policy. Launched by Minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz, the policy focuses on reforming fossil-fuel-based models and promoting green growth. It complements plans like the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 and seeks investment in areas such as waste management and recycling, aiming for sustainability and net zero emissions by 2050.
