Chery Automobiles Malaysia (CAM) inaugurated its local assembly plant in Shah Alam, marking the start of Jaecoo J7 SUV production. Tengku Zafrul Aziz, Malaysia's Investment, Trade, and Industry Minister, highlighted CAM's commitment, supported by Chery Chairman Yin Tongyue and China's Industry Minister Jin Zhuanglong. The plant, CAM's 11th outside China, aims to advance automotive technology in Malaysia alongside existing CKD operations in Kulim, Kedah.
