The Malaysian government has confirmed the continuation of the single wholesale network (SWN) model for 5G deployment, granting mobile network operators (MNOs) a 70% stake in Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) to foster public-private partnerships. Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul stated that ownership details are subject to negotiation, with a "golden share" enabling government oversight. The rollout aims for 80% population coverage by 2024, with costs estimated at RM17 billion. MNOs must support this initiative to enhance Malaysia's digital infrastructure and economic growth.
