Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul stated that Malaysia's GDP forecast for 2021, initially projected at 6-7.5%, will be revised down due to the impact of the Full Movement Control Order. The revised figures, expected in mid-August, will also reflect a higher deficit. He noted that the PEMULIH stimulus package could uplift GDP by 2%. Zafrul assured that the government's fiscal injection would be funded through increased revenue, optimisation of expenditure, and domestic borrowings.
