The disaster is anticipated to lead to a decline in the production value of economic sectors by between RM4 billion and RM8 billion. Government assistance for flood victims is expected to rise by RM600 million, bringing the total to RM2 billion from the initial allocation of RM1.4 billion. Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz stated that the government has implemented various forms of aid to support the victims, including assistance for those needing home renovations and new houses following the flood.
