Malaysia's economic growth will be the main factor influencing the ringgit's performance this year, according to International Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, he highlighted that Malaysia’s GDP growth forecast of 4-5% this year, as projected by Bank Negara Malaysia, will impact the ringgit. Following a strong rebound last year, with GDP rising by 14.2% in Q3, Tengku Zafrul noted that the ringgit has strengthened and emphasized that the value of the ringgit is market-driven. He stressed the importance of improving ease of doing business in Malaysia to attract companies amid economic slowdowns.     Also available in 'The Edge', 'New Straits Times'.
