Malaysia’s strong GDP growth in 2026 reflects successful efforts to raise the country’s economic “ceiling” through investment, manufacturing, technology and policy reforms. However, growth must also benefit all Malaysians by strengthening the “floor” through higher wages, better social protection, targeted subsidies, quality public services and support for MSMEs.
